Fixing images by region variation

We wanted to see if region variation could be used to fix those annoying little bugs/defects Midjourney can sometimes generate in exactly the image you like most. Sure, you can fix it yourself in Photoshop or other software of choice, but we wanted to try to use the function designed mainly to change selected area, to polish a selected area instead.

And we had perfect opportunity:

We choose V1 and upscaled it to vary region

Effects after 1st region variation below.

And after 2nd and 3rd re-roll of region variation.

Then, to help the algorithm, we upscaled the image with the largest mask surface area and, again, applied region variation. And it worked!

Then, after another 2 or 3 re-rolls, we finally ended up with a nice and smooth outcome.
