How will Midjourney understand a ”cult aesthetic”? We had to try this one for you 😀 What do you need to start a cult? First – your own place where the magic will happen! So we started with creating some images of one!
First we tried a basic generic prompt like:
/imagine: house for a cult
The outcomes were a bit… dark, I think would be the word… But also – triangular, which is interesting, as it’s a strong archetype (pattern) the algorithm does not want to let go of. What’s also curious is that the houses for the biggest cults have historically been triangle-shaped. But, back to our new outcome, which is a bit… generic, and on the boring side 😉 So, shall we add something more?
We chose to add ”new age” to the prompt to generate more interesting outcomes and stir the algorithm a little.
/imagine: house for a new age cult
”Still a bit dark,” I hear you say… And I’d agree.
To cheer things up, we added a little bit of sun, because sun is always a good idea. The effect was surprising, even to us. ”Sun”, in combination with the word ”cult”, created some really interesting combinations, don’t you think? But, yes, the visuals definitely are more cheerful 😀
But we wanted a place that’s a bit more realistic… As we learned from various documentaries, cults often choose the jungle for their headquarters, so we also chose this scenery, and, once again, added a bit of sun to direct the algorithm.
This zen vibe, a little cultish but still nice, is not exactly what we’d been going for. Some might say we got our desired outcome, but what if we wanted something more stylish for our cult? I’m definitely on the statement piece side 😉
